LEAD Project:
Technology-enhanced Learning and Problem-solving Discussions:
Networked Learning Environments in the Classroom

Contract Number IST-028027 LEAD (2005-2008)

The LEAD project is about computer-mediated communication during face-to-face discussions within the existing school setting. The LEAD project aims at changing face-to-face interactions and it take into account the social, cognitive, developmental processes that make a difference during this form of technology-enhanced learning.

The system to be developed within the Lead Project is twofold:

  • a Discussion Support System (DSS) to be used in the classroom, developed by the Salerno Team (named Coffee),
  • a Trace Analysis Tool (named Tatiana) to be used by educationalists and researchers, developed by the Armines Team (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Etienne / G2I).

Tatiana: Trace Analysis Tool for Interactions ANAlysts. This is the tool developed for the Lead Project, but it will also handle traces from different discussion tools (Coffee, Drew, DrewLite, Digalo, etc).

Drew is a collaborative tool (developped during the previous projects SCALE) that provide trace files of interactions with a web browser interface.
You may test here without any installation.

DrewLite is a simplified version of this tool running on a LAN with a less elaborate environment for managing sessions and traces. A simple trace viewer and converter comes also with DrewLite.
